There are all these rules that we follow. If not, surely chaos would soon ensue. Right? I mean, riiiiiiiight?!
I don't expect to magically grow wings when jumping off a cliff. Definitely not! No worries, I'm happy & much too lazy to climb up to reach a cliff edge anyhow.
I do sort of think that it's a bit of a waste to spend one's life making certain that a dirty dish never sits in the sink or that the laundry should all be folded perfectly.
Maybe that structure is good for most people. I can't really see how. Maybe as a society we've decided that if we slip up a little, we're just going to say 'screw it' and give up altogether (and all together). I can see it now - no running water, burrowing little hobbit holes in garbage pits, grunting language. Mmmmnnnn, smelly.
Of course, maybe everything would be just fine. Maybe, if we didn't disinfect every surface, every 20 minutes, we would still somehow be alright? Is it possible?
