Trite, stupid, sobbing...

I had avoided 'Marley and Me' very well. All I could think was that it was going to be stupid people recounting their boring life which just happened to contain a wonderful dog (since I have yet to meet a truly stupid or boring dog).

Several people suggested that I read the book and even more recommended the film. My will waivered and last night we settled down (much to the chagrin and ongoing sensibilities of Mr.) for an evening of Wilson-Anniston based entertainment. It was pretty much all that we had expected. A lot of rather irritating 'we can do this' bits.

Of course, you know how it's going to end and as soon as it took that turn I began sobbing like one of the spoiled children in the film. Pathetic! I am so disappointed in myself. Here is the girl that has fallen asleep during 'Beaches' and laugh - laugh I tells ya - at Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias. What the hell.

I had to immediately watch a worse movie to make me laugh - we went for a remake - 'the Taking of Pelham 123'. I strongly suggest not watching this movie, unless you too are trying to recover your dignity from having allowed something stupid to make you weep hysterically. In that case it's the perfect quantity of fast-food-film.
