2012

Kinda crappy

aaaand close enough (for then and now lyrics, the Huffington Post has a good translation - not that we've ever cared what it meant or really known the words before anyhow)

...couldn't let it all be stupid Christmas even if we are sort of pagan (gonna go swill down some essential oils and light some candles or something now)

Ellllllllllll gato y yo

Enjoying this sunny afternoon...

Damn, dirty hippie food

Roasted roots worked out better than the spinach saute

Totally off-post-subject, but I think I need a bigger mantle! My favorite part of Christmas is hearing from all-y'all. Each of you has a special place in my grey matter...

Don't Krampus my style man

"I know a doctor who might be able to help you. "

Really getting in the spirit - watching my favourite Christmas movie...Yay!

I've always wondered...

Compost or houseplant?

Our shady house probably won't let this work, but I don't care - going to try growing ginger and pineapple plants anyhow...

Thank you John Waters

Offensive or awesome?

What could be better?

An evening listening to Motorhead with the furry ones.

Revisited

Beautiful Mum came thru like a passing storm. It feels as though I just dreamt that she was here - guess we should try and convince her to stay for longer next time. Even just this short visit has left me in high spirits!

Mayonnaise

A malaise seems to have settled in this fall.
Everyone just seems a little quiet and slightly pissy. Hmnn. Maybe that's more a reflection on the author?
Anyhow, lets see what the perspective is after some exercise.

Silver lining

Having kids would be wonderful. But, we don't. Sometimes, there is a silver lining. High up on that list is - not having to explain why I am taking a glass of wine in to have with my bath (also, just being able to have the time for a bath and the lack of responsibility to down a glass of wine).

*Also, ice in wine may be tacky, but it's also good. So, suck it you snotty bastards.

Getchofreakon

So, gimme some lipstick and 5 minutes and I will show you scary.

Nice sentiment hon...

"She's like a pez dispenser - when you step on her, she cracks into pieces."

Too much "news"

Which is worse - to do something wrong with good intentions or to watch something bad happen and do nothing?

Owch, mine eyes

So,painful doodles are only ever really accomplished after a glass or two of wine...

Oh,and here is a cool picture I got of some monkshood and the back of the piano Mr was moving...

Points for being an old man

I cleaned. I cleaned and I haaaate cleaning. I haaaaaaaaaate cleaning cat vomit. You left me little option after hurling all over the computer cables under my desk you little varmint.
So, I cleaned and I set you up with your own little bed box under there (maybe that will contain the pukies?). Now use it. Noooooo, don't you hurl on my new chair pad.

You're lucky you're old and sorta cute (when you're not being menacing or throwing up).

Let the cursing commence

I took a beautiful and unexpected day off from work yesterday to drive down to the Danish whorehouse supply store (better known to people that aren't my husband as Ikea). Without Mr there to censor me, I bought ridiculous amounts of absolute junk.

Anyhow, was looking for a little table for my laptop in the office & found one that folds out of the wall. Of course, this is Ikea. So that means flat-pack furniture. Yay. I was wishing that I had the many hands of Shiva. Fortunately, there's that husband who will put up with a lot of abuse. I don't know what I will do when he throws me to the curb.

Put on your happy face

So glad you're branching out hon (ha! I crack me up!)

Speaking of branches, human panda girl

You make my head itch

Well you make tugboats sad

Sunday morning special

Today is starting out really great: beautiful light, drinking from my favorite mug and hanging with Clovman.

Mind you, it's nothing as religious as walking around Cambridge at dawn singing Kristofferson to myself...

...but it's damned nice.

Short but sweet

Clovis is

But actually, I was thinking of the lettuce which provided well for the two weeks before it began to bolt.

Now I will eat the rest and winter crops will take over the garden (or wilt and die depending on how much we remember to water)
Yummy salad time...

Better to sweat the small stuff

Lucky me to not having to worry about where my next meal is coming from.

Half baked

Lazy - path of least resistance & all that. This is a known factor. So, here's half a sketch...

& here's what I have to draw from. See what I mean about lazy?

Gitmo garden

Those suspect heads of lettuce won't escape now!

Ooh, and our lucky neighbors get this view...

Maybe we should stick grow-lights facing in on them so they don't get up to any mischief at night. Hmnnn, something to consider.

Counter-intuitive at best

Taking my multivitamin with a big glass of malbec - all about the health!

He says

Things so horrifying, one cannot help but smile.
He can't cope with friends wondering if we still like them just because he's been too busy to call them once a month, but he likes the idea of someone asking him to look up their behind just in case that discomfort is "ass cancer." And that, according to Mr, is the level of drama to be found in this song...

Now he's doing the Chris Farley - in a van down by the river - dance move that he's perfected and screeching along to Steel Heart. Awesome!

Is it a bad sign

When you finish a painting and you're happier with the splatter on your hands than the work on your canvas?

Saturday, September 10, 2011

Yay, trench foot

Mnnn, my work shoes are still wet from yesterday. I can smell them from here - should be great for customer service.

Getting pretty

Our first autumn plants are coming in. I love it when they first arrive and it's all new design and healthy stock. Fun days of planting ahead!

So cool

Have you seen the documentary A Man Named Pearl? We saw it & decided to go. Great! Just his property, so not a huge time-suck or anything. He is such a kind and fun guy and clearly enjoys people stopping in. Check out his place in Bishopville, SC if you ever get the chance.
